Jane Woods, Founder

Our story…

Jane Woods originally founded Holistic Child Therapy in Sydney, Australia, back in 2012.  But, soon realised that to do our job effectively our work needed to encompass the whole family, which created Holistic Child and Family Therapy (HC&FT).

Jane has worked tirelessly to bring her background in Child Psychology, experience in education, and, with families together – creating tailored packages of wrap around support for both families, and, professionals.

“My work is helping clients and families live their best life... how many people can say that?! I feel incredibly lucky to be a part of each and every child’s journey!”

Jane Woods | Founder

Named Holistic due to the unwavering belief that every aspect of the child needed to be addressed for effective treatment, HC&FT incorporate the physiological and the psychological, and, where necessary – energetic, when assessing and supporting children.

Creating the right tools

With a return from Sydney showing a clear gap in both the Education and Health pathways where understanding and treating Sensory Processing Disorder was concerned, HC&FT created in depth assessments tools, that provide a detailed and individualised program of support for each child.  They then went on to build training programs for parents and professionals and now deliver them across England.

With demand being extremely high for support of sensory needs, in 2019 Jane made the decision to change HC&FT into a Community Interest Company, so that funding could be won to provide training and support packages for parents who could not afford to access private services.

Funding

The funding gained has also provided training for Health, Education and Community professionals across Lancashire, paving the way for more understanding and support for children everywhere.
